Medical Savings Program
Save up to 25% on medical costs
Now, you and your family can save thousands of dollars a year on doctor visits, hospital stays, lab work - and more - with the National Health Discount Shield Care's Savings Program coverage
The cost of medical treatment has never been higher. And the prices continue to rise. The average cost of a doctor's office visit is now more than $150. A single day in the hospital can cost 10 times that much. Or more. And lab work ranges from $50 for simple blood tests to nearly $2,000 for an MRI. Yet fewer than six of 10 patients now have full health insurance coverage.
No wonder more and more Americans are turning to National Health Discount Shield to help cut the costs of medical treatment. Dramatically. With National Health Discount Shield, you can reduce your treatment costs by up to $1,200 a year, or more. And your family's costs by thousands of dollars a year.
National Health Discount Shield Physician Savings
With National Health Discount Shield, you can save up to 25% and more at over 350,000 doctor's locations throughout the country, including family physicians and specialists.
Now you can receive savings each and every time you visit one of our physicians through the same arrangements insurance companies have used for years. Our Network of physicians offers Members savings by using an automated re-pricing system.
Members simply locate a POS Network Provider, make an appointment, and present their Membership Card at the time of service. Physicians will call a toll free number and enter the Member's information. The repriced amount is calculated in seconds, and the Physician will collect the reduced amount, in full, from the Member. It's that simpleā¦
We'll even send you detailed instructions which explains to the Physician how the plan works and how they can easily re-price the procedures.
As a National Health Discount Shield Member, you also save on procedures rarely covered under conventional health insurance plans such as infertility, cosmetic surgery procedures, and more.

Patient Advocacy
Occasionally, especially in cases of catastrophic injury or illness, a Member is unable to guarantee payment for hospital care. Should that occur with you or a member of your family, a National Health Discount Shield Patient Advocate will work with you to determine eligibility for public and private assistance, and/or to help negotiate payments. -- (moved from hospital section)
The National Health Discount Shield Medical Advocacy services are dedicated to assisting the uninsured or underinsured to responsibly resolve their larger (over $5,500 for one provider) medical bills. Our provider researches the availability of and helps provide access to:
- Governmental programs
- Grants and foundations
- Private entitlement programs
Even with savings available on physician and other health care services, many people are often still unable to pay their medical bills. In addition to locating potential sources of funding to assist with medical bills, the provider will attempt to negotiate discounts, payment plans, and secure discounts in advance of services. This service is provided on a case-by-case situation based on best efforts (no guarantees are implied).
